Gibson County Warrant RecordsGibson County Warrant Records

A warrant question in Gibson County gets its firm answer from a handful of places: the issuing court, the County Clerk's official file, and the Sheriff's published wanted list. Warrants here come from the county courts and are served by law enforcement. No single Indiana search covers every kind of warrant, so a good Gibson County warrant records check means comparing sources, finding which court issued the order, and asking that office about its current process. That step matters whether you are checking your own status or helping a family member, since it points you toward lawful resolution instead of guesswork.

How to Check for a Warrant in Gibson County

Gibson County posts no interactive warrant database, so a warrant check here runs along three separate routes. Indiana MyCase lists eligible, nonconfidential Circuit and Superior Court cases and gives case context, though it is not final warrant clearance. The Sheriff's Most Wanted page, with its dated Active Wanted PDFs, is its own roster. The Gibson County Clerk keeps the official court file, while the Sheriff holds agency records and the wanted list. Follow each route that fits your situation.

  1. Search MyCase by cause, citation, cross-reference, or party name.
  2. Limit the court to 26C01 Circuit or 26D01 Superior.
  3. Read status, hearing, payment, FTA, warrant, recall, and release entries together.
  4. Call the Clerk at 812-386-6474 to verify the official file.
  5. Review the Sheriff's roster and call 812-385-3496 for safe routing.
  6. Use the Sheriff's written form to request an existing agency record.

Traffic cases can take one to two weeks to appear. Anyone in Gibson County who believes an active warrant exists should talk with counsel before walking in, because no official source promises a phone call prevents arrest.

Gibson County MyCase Search Fields

MyCase search tips explain why a cause number is the best key. A party search works when that number is unknown. Filters cut down common-name matches, but any Gibson County result still has to line up with the right court and case.

These controls organize public case data. They do not certify that no warrant exists.

Types of Warrants in Gibson County

Gibson County sources use several terms, and each one points to a different event. An arrest warrant, a summons, and an investigative search warrant are not the same process. The Sheriff PDF also carries short codes, and readers should not decode those by guesswork.

TypeHow it arisesBest source
Arrest warrantJudicial command to arrestCourt, Clerk, Sheriff
Bench warrant or FTAMissed appearance or noncomplianceCase court and Clerk
Traffic FTA/FTPMissed date or unpaid infractionClerk Traffic Division
Probation, bond, writCase-specific roster typeCourt or probation
Tax warrantState tax collectionSeparate state system
Federal warrantFederal processFederal court or counsel

Capias is not the main local term. In Gibson County, expect failure to appear, failure to appear/pay, bench warrant, warrant of arrest, or writ, each used only where the record supports it.

Gibson County's Two Court Paths

Gibson Circuit Court and Gibson Superior Court are the county's two trial courts. Local rules split criminal work between them, so an offense label alone may not tell you which court holds the case. The Odyssey court list identifies them as 26C01 and 26D01, and it lists no separate Gibson city or town court. That official list settles the court-choice question for Gibson County.

This is where the Clerk earns their keep. When a Gibson County roster shows only an abbreviated court code, or the case is unclear online, the Clerk's file settles it.

What a Gibson County Warrant Record Shows

The Active Wanted PDFs are rows on a page, not a query form. Names, addresses, photos, Want IDs, and case numbers stay on the government roster. The field labels still show a Gibson County reader exactly what needs verifying.

MyCase can add party role, filing date, case type, hearing, financial, bond, release, and document entries. Its screen display is not the official Gibson County court record.

Why Gibson Results Can Differ

The weekly Sheriff page, a dated PDF, MyCase, and the Clerk file are different layers caught at different times. A static list can lag behind service, arrest, recall, transfer, payment, or sealing. MyCase may omit older, sealed, expunged, juvenile, and excluded data.

Active
A list status that still needs agency confirmation.
Recall or quash
A court action that changes or ends a warrant.
FTA
Failure to appear at a required event.
FTA/FTP
Failure to appear or pay in traffic processing.
Open case
A status that is not synonymous with active warrant.

An unclear result calls for verification, not a claim of no warrant.

Who Issues and Serves Gibson County Warrants

The courts issue Gibson County warrants. The Sheriff and other officers serve them, while the Clerk maintains motions, orders, payments, and the rest of the file. City police and town marshals help with local routing; none runs a separate municipal warrant portal.

Gibson County Clerk

101 N. Main Street, Suite 9, Princeton, IN 47670

812-386-6474

Official files, traffic, payment, and document questions; listed weekday hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Gibson County Sheriff

119 E. Brumfield Avenue, Princeton, IN 47670

812-385-3496

Never contact a judge privately. The Superior Court warns against ex parte, or one-sided, communication about a pending Gibson County case.

Two Gibson County Record Buildings

Gibson County keeps its records in two buildings with two different jobs. The courthouse at 101 N. Main Street houses the Clerk and the courts, which makes it the stop for filings, payments, traffic questions, and court files. The Sheriff, jail, and 911 Dispatch moved to 119 E. Brumfield Avenue in May 2025, and that building handles law enforcement, jail work, and the wanted-list channel. Bond can be accepted around the clock in the jail lobby through its silver intercom process, but the lobby is no warrant-search terminal. A court-record visitor does not belong at the jail, and someone seeking bond instructions should not rely on MyCase alone. Call ahead to confirm the right counter and current hours.

What to Do If You Have a Gibson County Warrant

Clearing a Gibson County warrant is not one web transaction. Start by identifying the issuing court and cause number. Then ask the Clerk or counsel whether the live procedure requires a motion, hearing, appearance, payment, bond, or attorney filing. Only the court can recall, quash, modify, or keep the warrant in force.

Important: Speak with counsel before appearing or arranging surrender, since a call or payment does not promise recall or prevent arrest.

For traffic matters, follow the Clerk's payment and appearance instructions. For booking or bond, use the jail instructions. The regular posted schedule applies when no arrest warrant exists; a warrant may set full surety or another cash amount. Infraction deferral is an eligibility-based citation option in Gibson County, not a general warrant amnesty.

Gibson County Records Request Route

For a Sheriff record that is not online, file the Request for Access or Copy. It asks whether you want inspection or a copy, calls for a detailed description, and includes approval or written denial fields; it does not promise excluded investigative or court material. Indiana's court request guidance distinguishes agency records from Clerk files in Gibson County.

An agency need not build a new custom report. A redaction also does not prove that no Gibson County case exists.

Public Access to Gibson County Warrant Records

Indiana's Access to Public Records Act, IC 5-14-3, covers many agency records in Gibson County and across the state. Court files follow their own rules. Rule 4 sets out general access, Rule 5 excludes specified investigative, arrest-warrant, juvenile, witness, victim, and personal data, and Rule 9 governs waiver, verified requests, and court orders.

Access point: A lawful exclusion, redaction, or delayed public entry is not proof that no Gibson County warrant exists.

Anyone can research Gibson County cases on MyCase. Scraping, data mining, and bulk copying are barred, so treat it as a direct state source rather than roster material.

Gibson County Warrant List Dates

The Sheriff updates its Circuit and Superior Court list weekly. The page carries an August 28, 2026 date, with PDFs dated October and December 2025. Regular posting is not a trend in warrant volume, though. Do not count or republish the people, photos, addresses, or identifiers it contains. The official Indiana MyCase portal adds the separate public court layer.

Use the current Sheriff page for its scoped Gibson County list, and the Clerk for the official file.

Note: A missing name is not clearance, and an old entry may remain visible after a real-world status change.

Gibson County Warrant Scope Lines

Tax and federal matters sit outside this Gibson County criminal path. Indiana's electronic tax-warrant service concerns tax collection, not arrest warrants. Federal questions belong with the Southern District of Indiana, federal counsel, PACER for eligible dockets, or the U.S. Marshals. A county roster settles neither category. No Gibson County office runs an amnesty, roundup, or mass recall event, and none posts an online recall form. The prosecutor's infraction deferral option is not amnesty. State reminder texts can prevent missed dates where a court joins. Gibson County's participation is unconfirmed. Follow the issuing court's current instructions instead of assuming a safe-surrender event exists.

Warrant Records by City in Gibson County

These five are Gibson County's most populated places. Local police and marshals field safety and citation questions. But none offers a separate public warrant portal in the Odyssey list, and Gibson County court records stay with MyCase and the Clerk.

Princeton Warrant Records

8,301 residents in 2020; county-seat court, Clerk, city police, Sheriff, and jail access.

Fort Branch Warrant Records

2,965 residents; town and police contacts hand off to county court records.

Oakland City Warrant Records

2,279 residents; the official police page has no warrant database.

Haubstadt Warrant Records

Owensville Warrant Records

A call to a local agency does not itself confirm status or recall a Gibson County court warrant.

Gibson County Traffic and Bond Routes

A traffic failure to appear or failure to pay needs a different first stop than a jail bond question. The Gibson County Clerk's Traffic Division handles citation entry, court payments, and the court-record trail. A new ticket takes one to two weeks to appear. Search with the ticket or cause number. Call 812-386-6474 if it has not been assessed. The Clerk lists online access for eligible payments, plus mail and in-person payment. Cash, cashier's checks, money orders, and specified cards work at the counter. Personal checks do not. Existing judgments may use BridgePay with a cause number and its listed processing fee. The jail route begins only when booking or bond administration matters. Bond is available in the Gibson County jail lobby at all times. Ask there about exact cash or card options. The online card limit is $2,500. The published misdemeanor and former Class D felony schedule applies per charge when no arrest warrant exists. A judge can modify those terms. An arrest warrant may require full surety or a different cash amount printed on the order. Release also requires a signed promise to appear.

So paying a general amount never works as automatic warrant clearance in Gibson County. Indiana BMV material belongs only at the end of the traffic chain. A court reports the FTA or FTP consequence. The court also supplies the first resolution step. The separate BMV process does not turn a Gibson County warrant inquiry into a driving-record search. GovPayNow's separate Bond/Bail and Tax Warrant codes show that tax collection and criminal bond are different matters. Before sending money, confirm the court, cause number, current balance, and purpose with the Gibson County Clerk or the office named on the order. That habit prevents costly mix-ups.
